Learn about plants suitable for school or centre garden spaces, how to care for them, and how bush tucker can be used to learn about First Nations peoples, their connection to Country, and the cultural significance of native plants.
This workshop is designed to support teachers and educators who are looking to create and maintain a First Nations cultural resource, such as a bush tucker garden, and to use it as a hands-on learning tool to explore First Nations knowledge, culture, and relationships with the environment.
Presented by Bruce from Murri Tukka, the workshop will include a one hour walk and talk looking at plants that may feature in your garden, followed by a one hour presentation and tasting.
Topics discussed include:
1. Choosing plants to build your garden, including a discussion of plants that support local biodiversity.
2. Caring for your plants and advice on keeping our bush tucker gardens healthy
3. Using your plants in activities and cooking
Please wear closed in shoes and appropriate clothing for walking.
Spaces are limited so please register to attend.
You can only purchase one ticket per person. Please register individually.
